the condx is variable on the higher bands, with a very deep fading. Anyway we are able to get acceptable rates. This afternoon there was a very beautiful opening on 10m with EU and USA. Also on 6m we saw very strong signals.
Not so good on the lower bands, where the atmospheric noise is high and the activity on 80m and 160m is not satisfactory. We improved the ground of the vertical antenna with a lot of radials, but we did not see appreciable improvement with the rate because of noise in receiving.
During the night we are often on 80m and 160m to check the conditions but we are able to receive only few stations.
We tried 80m SSB this evening but the signals were very low, so we moved on 40m where our operator Stefano IK2HKT is fighting managing the pile-up, because of a lot of indiscipline..
Tomorrow morning we will begin dismantling, anyway we plan to keep two stations active all morning.
Despite the almost 70,000 QSOs, the pile-up is still formidable on all bands, when the condx is OK.
la propagazione va a fasi altenre sulle bande alte, con qsb molto profondo. Ciò nonostante riusciamo a tenere rate molto soddisfacenti. Oggi pomeriggio c'è stata una aperture fornidabile in 10m con segnali forti da EU e USA.
Anche in 6m c'è stata apertura con l'Europa con segnali fortissimi. Meno bene le bande basse, il noise atmosferico è forte e l'attività in 80 e 160 non è gratificante. Abbiamo aumentato il numero dei radiali per L invertita dei 160m ma non abbiamo visto miglioramenti apprezzabili a causa del noise che ci impedisce la ricezione.
Nel corso della notte facciamo sistematici passaggi in 80 e 160 per sondare le condizioni ma sono poche le stazioni che entrano nel log.
Abbiamo fatto un tentativo in 80 ssb stasera ma i segnali in ricezione erano tropo bassi, ci siamo spostati in 40m dove Stefano sta battagliando per contenere il pile up perchè c'è troppa indisciplina.
Domani mattina cominceremo le operazioni di smontaggio ma contiamo di rimanere attivi con 2 stazioni per tutta la mattinata.
Nonostante i quasi 70.000 qso il pile up è sempre fornidabile in ogni banda, quando ci sono le condizioni.
