la NCDXF lancia come ogni fine d'anno il suo messaggio per la raccolta di fondi destinati a sponsorizzare le grandi spedizioni che ci fanno divertire (e anche soffrire...). Se non avete ricevuto l'appello, ve lo posto qui, BUONE FESTE

The primary purpose of the Northern California DX Foundation is to help fund well-organized DXpeditions to rare, difficult and expensive entities. Even though the current solar cycle is winding down, the NCDXF has been seeing more activity than ever in its history.

Recently, two large grants were given to the 2018 Bouvet and Baker Island DXpeditions, both currently ranked in the Top 5 Most Wanted DXCC entities. We have also contributed to WRTC 2018, the ARRL Ham Aid Fund, provided tuition for youth at DX and Contest Universities, and partnered with IARU to operate a worldwide Beacon system.

In 2017, so far, well over $200,000 has been granted to DXpeditions and other projects. Before this, the highest calendar year grant total was $131,000 in 2005.

These grants would not be possible without contributions from the DX community.

Our Cycle 25 Project is an endowment project for those wishing to leave behind a legacy contribution for our hobby. Please consider NCDXF in your estate planning. The earnings of the Cycle 25 Project fund will be used to help support future DXpeditions.

And as the end of the year approaches, please consider becoming a contributor to NCDXF. For those who file United States income tax returns, contributions are tax-deductible, as NCDXF is a Section 501(c)(3) entity with the IRS. With your financial support, we’ll continue to make DX happen for DXers worldwide.

Che possiamo dire ?
Fanno tutti loro, gli americani, poco da dire.
Se guardiamo il grafico delle contribuzioni ricevute per l'imminente spedizione e Bouvet, la percentuale degli americani è da sola più della metà, il 62%, eppure sappiamo già quasi per certo, che sarà l'Europa a fare più qso con 3Y0, così come in quasi tutte le spedizioni, tranne quelle nel pacifico per ovvie ragioni geografiche, e neppure sempre !
La maggior parte dei dxer si concentra in Europa, indiscutibile, nonostante gli Om americani siano di più, ma un pò meno che da noi dedichi a "fillare slot" nelle spedizioni.

Che si potrebbe dire ? Che gli europei sono più tirchi ? Più poveri ? Più menefreghisti ? Meno lungimiranti (tanto c'è chi ci pensa...) ?
Penso tutte le cose insieme.
Non per spezzare una freccia a favore, ma credo che in nessuna parte come in Europa (occidentale ed orientale), il radiantismo si sia diffuso anche tra le fasce di ceto medio basso della popolazione, che naturalmente, al netto delle spese per mandare avanti la propria passione, resta di ben poco per offrire a terzi.

Fatto sta, che di solito, chi più paga.. più ottiene, forse non in termini di qso, come detto, ma quanto meno di decisioni, quando andare.. che bande fare, quali modi far prevalere, scelte di bande ed orari, poi non ci lamentiamo troppo eh...
